how to ruin a good book, the sequel
you guys can HAVE lord of the rings. i'll take the chronicles of narnia any day, hands down.
the movie last nite was fan-damn-tastic. all 2 and a half hours of it. for the first time in who knows, i sat through a whole movie without having to go pee. not because i didn't have to, but because i didn't want to miss anything. (here's an idea, but a bathroom inside the theatre itself with a high def screen in the right spots that way i don't have to have trucker's bladder just to see a movie.)
having never read the book (I KNOW.), i can't speak to the accuracy of the screenplay. but the screenplay is FABULOUS. the cinematography is FABULOUS. the computer generated effects were used in just the right ways and looked very real (and were not overused). the actors were brilliant in their awkwardness and childishness. i just thought the movie was great. best movie i've seen in the theatre in a while.
so you guys can have your frodo and bilbo and blah, blah, blah. give me lions, and witches and wardrobes (oh my)!

A friend of mine works at rhythm & hues, one of the companies that did the effects. They did Aslan, I believe..
Tilda Swinton can make a movie. If you liked her, check out Orlando. It's a Virginia Wolf thing, where she's the same person reincarnated, and she plays both the men and women and is so ambiguous, it's crazy.
I'm really excited about seeing this one. I loooooooooove the books.
i saw that on the credits, rhythm & hues...thought it was a super cool name.
you know newton, it's OK to think both Tolkien & his hobbits and Lewis & lions and beavers are BOTH cool. they were friends, after all, and both could smoke a bowlful and seem really smart.
Hello...LOVED IT!
Saw it on Sunday. I will say, it was a bit slow in the beginning but it went right along with the book (read it a million, yes a million times as a kid).
The effects were amazing. Plus, I really think they found a talking lion for Aslan's part! heehee Oh, loved the witch too. I'm all for the sequels!
you'd have to be smoking a bowl to think of some of this stuff...i didn't know that tolkien and lewis were friends. that's why i have you.
I'm still amazed it was only rated PG. I'd probably crap my pants if I saw some of those creatures as a kid.
