happy birthday, brooooooooooooooooooce!

okay, so it's not really the boss' birthday, but it IS the anniversary of one of the top 5 (thank you, rob) rock and roll records of all time. that's right, in case you've been living under a musical rock for the past month or so, today marks the release of the 30th anniversary remastered release of born to run. last nite i went and saw excerpts of the two dvds that come in the box set. i was a little excited. today, i couldn't get to the record store (okay, it was borders. i had to go during lunch. deal with it.) fast enough during lunch to buy my own copy. i opened it, smelled it (new cd's and new books have SUCH a good smell), popped in the cd, and turned it up to 27 - my amp goes way the f past 11. apologies to the guy smoking in the work parking lot for making you think i was a raving lunatic with a thing for beating on the steering wheel around 2p.

i don't care how many times i hear this record, i get chills every time thunder road fades in. knowing what i know about the recording process and story behind the making of the record only makes it that much better.

if you don't have this record, don't tell anyone. if you don't have this record, take your name off of the "rock and roll connissieur" master list. if you don't have this record, you're missing out.

all hail the boss and the creation of quite possibly the finest 39 minutes of music ever created.
