oh, what a feeling
first, thanks to everyone who came out to the show last nite at the 5spot. i hope you had as much fun as i did. in case you missed it, richard sexton was fun and interesting (and rather daring in that skirt), brian ritchey was engaging and wonderful, and i...well, i was wearing a coat - a first. for the first song or two anyway. i also had a globe lamp serving as a prop - also a first. it was fun playing a set that was a little more laid back and relaxed than the past few shows. it was also a lot of fun to play some songs i haven't played in a while - love and mercy (brian wilson), 13 (big star) & happenstance (yours truly), to name a few.
in other news, i did some new photos with my friend meshelle on saturday over around sylvan park/charlotte pike. we're both pretty excited about what we wound up with, so i'll get them on the website as soon as possible. that reminds me, if you're not currently getting my email updates, you need to send a message to info@newtondominey.net with the following in the subject line: newton, i'm sorry i've been such a tart. add me to your mailing list.
i'm off to birmingham tomorrow to rock and roll with garrison starr and nini camps. i'm debating on whether i should drive back tuesday nite or stay in some shit motel with a three pack of high life tallboys to get the true road experience. i think i'll pack a pillow and toothbrush just in case. if i can come up with wi-fi access, i'll be sure to post something tuesday nite or wednesday morning.

We really dug the globe lamp. Sorry we had to jet...eleven on a school night came early.
Totally dug the set though, and I'm glad we stayed to see you.
Great show!!! I heard it all the way over here. Rock on, my friend!
I liked your set last night. Your songs really are quite beautiful. I don't know how come I didn't realize this the first time I heard you.
