party like crockett and tubbs
the wife and i have been invited to a new year's eve party - with a theme - prom circa 1986. where the hell do i find a costume/tux that looks like 1986 and, more importantly, should i try to go as someone from 1986?
what about the wife? where's she gonna find a 20 years old looking prom dress?
any ideas, help or fun making would be appreciated. as you'd expect, i'll be sure to post pictures.

The wife cold very easily find an appropriate dress at a thrift store, or even at some of the current hip stores. A lot of that 80's fashion is most unfortunately making a comeback.
For you, I'd guess the thrift stores as well. Or a costume rental place. I'll bet whatchacalit on Church has a good selection. Performance. That's the name.
yeah...we were thinking maybe silvery moon or some place like that.
Cream colored suit, pink crew neck t-shirt. push sleeves up to elbows everytime you talk to someone.
Gel hair back.

Ebay. I had to research it for myself not too long ago.
Also, the vintage store on Elliston above where Mosko's/Rosko's used to be.
