maui pics

i forgot that i can resize pics in photobucket, so i'm going to repost them here in a more friendly size than i wound up with last week. i'll have more up this week. we took lots of pictures. specifically:

300 digital
7 rolls of 400/800 speed on the slr
3 rolls on the avantix
45 minutes of video

there was a lot to see! here's the pics:

sunrise on our 2nd day. we went snorkeling around molokini ("mole-oh-keen-ee") island with a bunch of people. the winds and water were rougher than sex at tommy lee's place. 4 people barfed the whole time. we were not included in that group. 40 mph winds. white caps the whole way back. we sailed back at 10 knots. with the motor, the boat would only do 6 or 7. it.was.AWESOME!!!

the following all happened in the same day:
the beginning of sunrise on haleakala ("holly-ohk-uh-lah"). it's about 6.20. we've been up for 4 hours already...

a photo op whilst riding down the volcano. we went from 10k feet to sea level in 38 miles. we rode through a eucalyptus forest, a lavender farm and a little hippie town called paia ("pie-ee-uh"). i was the only dude to get on the front wheel for a picture, but you probably could've guessed that.Image hosting by Photobucket

this is me, at 4.30 that afternoon, boogie boardin'. i was told that i looked like a kid who'd been taken to the beach for the first time...i couldn't play enough! we wouldn't crash until 11p that nite.

i've got more pictures from the 2nd half of our week that i'll try to post in the next few days. we stayed in hana ("hahn-uh"), which is on the wet side of the island. it's a rain forest. no shit. a rain forest.a rain forest and a beach are seperated by maybe 25 miles. the volcano? it's on one side of a national park. the 400 ft waterfall that i saw? it's on the other. who's up for moving to maui?!?!?

Awesome pics Newton! You two are sooo cute! My Dad and bro did that same bike ride (although they didn't end up with the same pic), but I opted to ride a horse through the pineapple fields :o)

The bike pic is definitely a framer. It rivals the pic you have of you two on myspace for the best picture ever.
